Lincoln Trade School began as the dream of two close friends: Rebecca Mendoza, a nurse and veteran, and Besart M. a refugee from Kosovo who came to America to pursue the American dream. Besart built a successful entrepreneurial career through hard work, and together with Rebecca, they started a small but ambitious project in Yonkers called Lincoln Trade School, with the goal of providing accessible, high-quality education to everyone. From these humble beginnings, their vision has continued to grow, helping countless students achieve their career goals and build a brighter future.
On May 1st, we proudly celebrated our first anniversary at Lincoln Trade School. The milestone was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside Mayor Mike Spano in Yonkers, recognizing the dedication and vision of our founders. This event honored the sacrifice and hard work of Besart Doda and Rebecca Mendoza, two friends who came together with a shared dream—and are building not just a school, but a thriving community where students can grow, learn, and succeed together.
At Lincoln Trade School, we are aiming for the stars—for the future, for our community, and for every person who believes in second chances. We know that there’s always a way forward, and that opportunities are within reach and achievable for those willing to work for them. Our mission is to empower every student to dream big, learn with purpose, and succeed.
